Just like the Hitachi Substation shown in the previous photos, this airplane hangar sits in a peacful residential area in western Tokyo. It was originally built--with labor from local junior high school students, I might add--to hide the Heian fighter jets that were tasked with defending the city's airspace during the war. This is one of only three hangars that are still around today.
Another aircraft hangar a little further south. People just built their houses right around it!
