The bridge now sits among the towering skyscrapers of central Tokyo's business district a mere 10-minute walk north of Tokyo Station. The fact that hundreds of businessmen walk by every day completely unaware of what happened here more than 70 years ago makes the site all the more intriguing to me.
No one would blame you for thinking this building was located in one of the world's current conflict zones...
... But, no, it sits in a quiet park in the suburbs of western Tokyo.
